Overview
This article provides information on how to reset a forgotten password, update an existing password, and provides best practices for FORTH CRM password security.
If You Forgot Your Password (Login Screen)
If you are unable to access your account, follow these steps:
- Navigate to your company’s unique Forth login URL (e.g., company.forthcrm.com).
- Go to the particular portal, in this example debtfreeportal.com (we recommend Google Chrome as your web browser).
- If there is a Forgot Password? link, click that. Otherwise go to Step 4.
- Enter the Email Address associated with the Forth user account when prompted.
- You will receive an email message from noreply@setforth.com containing a secure login link that is active for ten (10) minutes. Click the secure link within that time frame to access the portal.
IMPORTANT: If you do not see this email within five (5) minutes,
check your Spam/Junk folder. Otherwise, we are happy to assist with further
troubleshooting by phone at 877-800-5577 ext. 1 if any issues persist.- Enter a new password that meets the security requirements listed in the Forth CRM Password Requirements section of this article.
- Once you are successfully logged in, the system will prompt you to create a new permanent password.
How to Change an Existing Password (Inside the App)
To update your password while currently logged in:
- Log in to the Forth CRM.
- Click on the Profile & Settings dropdown menu found at the top right of the page, and click Change Password (see image below).
- The Change Your Password window appears.
- Enter your Current Password first, then enter and confirm your New Password (see image above).
- Click Update Password in the bottom right to accept the changed/updated password.
Resetting your password (Admin)
IMPORTANT
To manually resent a user's password, you need the "Edit Users" permission.
If you cannot find someone, contact Support@setforth.com for assistance.- Click the Admin tab, and then find the user who needs their password reset.
- Click the right arrow icon
to the far right of their name.
- The Edit User page then opens, now go to the User Login Information section (see image below).
- Click the Require Password Change at Next Login checkbox. This is more secure than manually entering a password for the user.
- Click Save User from the left side of the Navigation Bar (see image below) to save your password change.
Resetting your password (User)
NOTE
The user should receive an email with a temporary password from noreply@setforth.com.
If the user does not see it after five (5) minutes, ask them to check their
spam/junk folder.- Open the email from noreply@setforth.com.
- Follow the prompts to complete your password reset.
Forth CRM Password Requirements
To protect sensitive Fintech data and remain compliant with SOC2 standards, your password must meet the following criteria:
- At least 12 characters. (* The Forth CRM's maximum allowable password length is now 64 characters for security purposes. This applies to any user type that is logging into the Forth CRM such as regular users, brokers, etc.
- At least one uppercase letter and lowercase letter
- At least one number
- At least one special character (!@#$%^&*)
- No emojis or non-ASCII characters
- Must not contain username or email
- Must not include email addresses or known domain names (.com, .net, forthpay).
User Lockout Enforcement
During this 30-minute window, no one can take action to unlock, as the user is not locked out, but rather in a “cooling” off state. After this expires, the user is able to log in again and gets 10 more consecutive attempts. If the user fails these 10 attempts as well, then the user is locked out and can ONLY be unlocked by an admin, via one-time use temporary password sent to the user.
The system also tracks invalid user login attempts for all users logging into the Forth platform.
Common Troubleshooting
| Issue | Solution |
| No reset email received | Ensure the email entered matches exactly what is on your "User Profile." Contact your Admin to verify the spelling. |
| "Link Expired" Error | Password reset links are valid for 24 hours. If expired, please trigger a new request. |
| Locked Account | After ten (10) failed attempts, your account is locked for 30 minutes. An Admin can help with unlocking you. |
