| FHC-XX | How to Upload Files and Add an FTP Server | October 28, 2025 | 2.0 |
This article describes the FORTH CRM's File & Media Library role in uploading a file and adding an FTP server to the CRM. This article includes the following topics:
The File & Media Library
The FORTH CRM's File & Media Library lets you upload files like documents, images, and videos. You can then use these files in email templates, as document graphics, or as email attachments. The File & Media Library is found by clicking the Files Tab in the CRM.
This article covers uploading new files as well as connecting your own FTP server.
Important Notes Before You Begin:
- All files are public. Files uploaded here are publicly available. Do not upload private or confidential information.
- File Size Limit: The maximum size for a single file to be uploaded is 100MB.
How to Upload a New File
Follow these steps to upload a file from your computer to the FORTH CRM.
- From the Files tab, click Upload A New File found in the Navigation Bar (see image below).
- Select a Server: Choose where to save your file from the FTP Server dropdown menu. The default is the CRM's Public URL server, accessible to anyone on the network. To add your own private server, see the next section of this article titled, "How to Add an FTP Server".
-
Choose a File Type: Choose a File Type from the File Type dropdown menu, choosing Document, Image, Miscellaneous, or Video. The file type for an uploaded file can affect where it is available within the CRM.
- Document - Available as attachments to emails.
- Image - Available as graphics for documents and email templates.
- Misc. - Available as attachments for email templates.
- Video - Available in email templates.
- Select your file: Click Choose File and then find the file to upload from your local storage.
-
Name your file: The Name / Alias of File field will auto-fill with the file's original name. You can change this if you want a different name or alias inside the CRM.
- (Optional) Add more files: To upload multiple files at once, click the "Add Another" button found at the bottom right of the page and repeat steps 3-5.
-
Upload: Once you select the file (or files) to upload, click Upload from the Navigation Bar.
How to Add an FTP Server
If you have your own private FTP server, you can connect it to the FORTH CRM. This allows you to select it from the FTP Server dropdown when uploading files.
- From the Files tab, click Servers.
- On the FTP Servers page, fill in your server's details:
- Server Name
- Username
- Absolute File Path
- Password
- Host or IP Address
- Directory Path
- When finished, click Save Connection in the Navigation Bar. Your server will now be an option when you upload new files and would be listed as an Existing Server on the right side of the page shown above.
