Generating a PDF
- Select a particular client contact from the Contacts tab, click the Docs nested tab, and then click Generate Documents.
-
Ensure that the "Send Document via Clixsign" action is selected, as shown at the top left of the image below. Complete the "Document Configuration" section, providing the template to use, any optional fields tied to a specific template, and the Document Expiration Date". NOTE: the default for the "Document Expiration Date" is 30 days.
- Next, complete the Signers & Delivery Method section. This enables you to select who the signers will be the signer type (Contact, Co-Applicant, Assigned User, Me, User, or Other, etc.), the email address, mobile phone number and also lists the SMS Subscription Status for that signer.
From this section, you also can determine whether to enforce the order of the approvers that you have assigning. Click the checkbox next to "Enforce Signing Order" to do so.
Finally, you can also establish whether this Cixsign request will be sent via email or SMS. NOTE: If you hover over the "Send via SMS" checkbox, a message appears stating that by verbally authorizing for SMS, you certify that the consumer has agreed to receive automated SMS messages to the mobile number provided.
- Finally, go to the Email Message section of the page. Input the subject and message in the email accompanying this request for Clixsign signature. Select the template you wish to apply in the dropdown menu if this is an E-Marketing Template. You can make minor formatting changes to the message (bold, italics, or underlining).
- When finished, click the purple Send for Signature button at the bottom of the page. You should see a confirmation at the bottom of the page, similar to the example below.
- This prompts the CRM to send the generated document to the contact's email address for electronic signature. The email received will look like the image shown below.
- Click the "Review & Sign Now" button in the email to continue.
- On the page that appears (see below), read the disclaimer and if you agree, click the checkbox to confirm. Click the "Begin Signing" button.

Clicking Send For Signature sends the document signature request directly to the contact's email address.
NOTE
If contact has a co-applicant with an email address, the system will automatically send the document signature request to the co-applicant, once the primary applicant has signed depending on signing order selection you have specified. The document signature request will only complete once both applicants have signed in co-applicant scenarios.
Send via SMS
- Once you submit your request for signature, signers will receive a link via text message that will open a page as seen in the image above. By checking the second checkbox option, you agree to receive text messages from Clixsign for signature and document activity. Checking both options is necessary to continue using SMS.
- Click the "Begin Signing" button.
- Scroll down to the bottom of the left-side panel to the SMS section. Ensure there is a phone number selected from the From Number dropdown menu and a Template selected from the Select Template dropdown menu.
