This article describes the opt-in configuration for co-applicant status synchronization within the FORTH system. This article is for Super Admins who manage global account configurations and CRM system settings.

Overview
In the FORTH system, co-applicant statuses function independently by default. Co-applicant statuses no longer mirror the primary applicant automatically. This feature is now an opt-in configuration that is turned off by default. This change protects your automated backend tasks from executing unexpectedly.
How to Access
This feature can be requested by someone with the Super Admin user role and can only be accessed by a member of the FORTH support team. Please contact them for assistance.
How it Works
When this setting is ON:
- Any status update applied to a primary applicant automatically applies to the linked co-applicant.
- New co-applicants created alongside a primary applicant receive the same initial status as the primary applicant.
- The system processes this status change as a single sync event to prevent duplicate task generation.
When this setting is OFF:
- Primary applicant statuses and co-applicant statuses remain completely independent.
- Updating one profile does not change the other.
IMPORTANT: This setting only impacts status updates moving forward. It will not retroactively update statuses for contacts modified before the setting was enabled.
Troubleshooting/FAQ
Why did my co-applicant status fail to update when I changed the primary contact status?
Verify your global account settings. The Enable Co-Applicant Status Mirroring toggle must be switched to ON for statuses to synchronize automatically.
Will turning this feature on change my existing historical data?
No. Enabling this setting only impacts future contact creations and future status updates. It will not alter historical contact records retroactively.
Does this setting impact how primary applicant statuses are updated via the API?
Yes. When the setting is enabled, updates coming through the system API will also trigger the status mirroring on linked co-applicants.
