How to Configure Task Status in Triggers |
July 10, 2026 |
Basic |
This article describes the addition of the Task Status field to the Create Task setup action within the FORTH triggers system. It is for admins and users with specific configuration permissions required to manage triggers and tasks within the FORTH CRM.
The article is organized into the following sections:
Overview
Managing workflows across multiple accounts often requires duplicating the same trigger configuration. We added an optional Task Status field to all trigger events. You can now assign a specific status to a task automatically at the exact moment a Create Task trigger runs. This change saves configuration time, reduces workflow duplication, and improves reporting accuracy for accounts in special statuses.
Prerequisites
Super Admin permissions or specific user access to modify automated triggers and configure tasks within the FORTH CRM.
How to Access
- Log in to the FORTH CRM.
- Click the Admin tab.
- Navigate to Settings > Triggers.
How it Works
- Open an existing trigger event or click Create New Trigger to create a new trigger.
- Locate the Setup Actions area and select the Create Task action.
- Locate and click the Task Status dropdown field inside the configuration window to view available statuses.
-
The system dynamically pulls active task statuses configured for your account (The options available may not match those shown in the image below).
-
When the task is being generated via the Create Task popup, the Task Status dropdown (see below) will display the status selected as shown in the image above.
- Select the desired status to apply when the task is generated.
- Leave the field blank if you do not want to assign a status upon creation.
- Click Save to secure your trigger configuration.
Troubleshooting/FAQ
Will this change break my existing triggers?
No. This update maintains backward compatibility. Existing triggers using the Create Task action without a status will continue to function exactly as they do today.
Is the Task Status field mandatory?
No. The field is completely optional. You can save the trigger event with the Task Status field omitted, and the system will apply default assignment rules.
Why is a specific task status missing from my dropdown menu?
The dropdown list dynamically displays active task statuses configured within your specific account. If a status is missing, verify that it is marked active within your global account settings.
