| FHC-CAL-01 | How to Manage Calendar Events and Settings | October 08, 2026 | 1.2 |
This article describes how to manage calendar events and settings within the Forth CRM. It was developed for FORTH CRM users and administrators who need to schedule, manage, and synchronize calendar events and preferences.
It is organized into the following topics:
Overview
Within the Calendar module/tab, you can schedule, edit, and delete Events, as well as assign them to users to move contacts through the enrollment process.
Events and Tasks - These two functions are similar and share the purpose of assigning work to a contact. The main difference is:
- Events are set for a specific time and date to be done.
- Tasks are set to be completed over a certain time and will have a deadline.
For more information on Tasks, see our Help Center article titled Managing Tasks.
Calendar Settings
To personalize the settings for the Calendar module, click the small Gear icon at the top right of the page. A General Settings page will open by default (see image below).
General Settings
The General Settings page lets you make selections for the following:
- First Day of the Week
- Workday Start and End
- Time Slot Durations
- Turning on Tooltips.
Availability Schedule
The Availability Schedule setting allows to establish which event types are to be available for you to schedule (see example in image above).
Subscribe Settings
On the Subscribe Settings page, the user is provided URLs for Outlook, Google Calendar, and iCal (Apple) that can be subscribed to into their own calendar software.
Event Types
Go to the Help Center article titled Event Types and Dismissal Forms and follow the steps provided there.
Schedule an Event
An Event can be scheduled from two different locations.
Location 1: From the Calendar Tab, click Schedule Event (see below).
NOTE: An event cannot be scheduled for a client here, only with users.
Location 2: From the Client Dashboard, go to the Event Nested Tab (i.e., subtab) and click Schedule Event (see first image below).
When Location 2 is used to access the event, the Contact information is prefilled and is not editable from that page.
The following fields should be completed. A description of those fields is listed below.
- Contact - (automatically prefilled if using the Contact tab) Provide the name of the person responsible for this event.
- Title - Name of the event; what is entered here will appear under the Calendar Event section on the Calendar tab.
- View - Set if the event will be listed as public for all users to see on their respective calendars, private for it to only be visible on the assignee's calendar (Admins can see and filter even if set as private).
- Event Type - Select an Event Type for the event you are scheduling.
- Start - Choose the date and time from the calendar popup to start this event.
- End - Choose the date and time from a calendar popup
- Timezone - establishes the timezone to apply to this event
- Repeat - Select a cadence to repeat this event (Daily, Weekly, Monthly).
- Assigned To - Select a user to assign the event to.
- Location - Location information can be entered here.
- Description - Box to enter further information and description about the event.
Once finished, click Save to save the scheduled event.
The Events nested tab will refresh and display the new event like the example below, showing that your event is now on the Calendar.
If you return to the Calendar Module/Tab, the Calendar has been updated with this event as well.
Task Email Notifications include the collection agency, current balance, original balance and last four digits of the account number alongside the creditor name.
Delete or Edit Calendar Events
To delete an existing event that you've scheduled. From the Calendar tab, click over a particular event. A popup will appear (see example shown below) that offers the option to either edit or delete that event.
If you click Delete, a confirmation popup will appear confirming the intent to delete that event. Click Delete on that popup and the Calendar view will refresh.
If you click Edit, an Edit Event popup will appear, letting the user make the desired updates. When finished with these edits, click Save and the Calendar view will refresh to reflect these changes.
Troubleshooting / FAQ
Can I restore calendar events if I delete them by mistake?
Yes. Mass deletion actions generate a unique restoration token recorded in system history logs. Copy this token along with the date and time of deletion, then contact your Account Manager or support team to restore the deleted items.
How do Events differ from Tasks?
Events occur at a specific date and time. Tasks represent assignments completed over a duration with a set deadline. For task workflows, see the Managing Tasks Help Center article.
