This article describes how to view and access the table of transactions that comprise the Amortization Scheduler in the FORTH CRM. It was developed for Account Administrators and Billing Specialists who maintain amortization settings and manage contact balances in the FORTH CRM.
The article is organized into the following sections:

- How to Access
- How it Works

- Assistance
Overview
The Amortization Scheduler provides a view of all scheduled transactions (active or inactive), organized by month, that are related to a consumer's debt. This provides a comprehensive view of the consumer's financial standing.
When you enable the inactive transaction setting, the system automatically accounts for inactive transactions in contact balances and amortization schedules. This eliminates discrepancies between different account views and saves time during financial reconciliation.
Prerequisites
- Account Administrator or Billing Manager role in the FORTH CRM.
- Standard user access to the FORTH CRM.
- Access to company account settings.
How to Access
- Log in to the FORTH CRM.
- Click the Admin tab.
- Navigate to Settings > Account > Company Settings.
- Scroll down to the Amortization Settings section.
How to Enable
The Amortization Scheduler, by default, displays only Active transactions. However, the scheduler can be modified to view both Active and Inactive Transactions. This is accomplished by enabling the setting titled, "Include Inactive Transactions in Amortization Scheduler". Contact your Account Manager or the FORTH support team to request such access, or to disable the setting.
How to Use
Once this setting is enabled:
- Click the Settlements tab, and then click New Settlement Offer in the navigation bar (see below).
- Enter the name of the client who's Amortization Schedule you wish to view in the field titled Select a Client to Begin (Item #1 below).
- Next, select Enrolled Debts, Offers in Progress, or Completed Offers under the Select a Debt to Settle section (Item #2 below) to find a particular debt to view.
- To illustrate this, select Offers in Progress. A table like the one shown below will then appear.
- Once you click the right-facing arrow highlighted above, the following page will then open.
- Scroll down the page to the Offer Terms subtab section and go to the Amortization Schedule at the bottom of the page.
- Review the balance calculation to verify that transactions marked as Inactive reflect in the balance and display their current status.
The Amortization Scheduler will have automatically updated itself to reflect a complete financial picture:
- Unified View: The scheduler now displays both active and inactive transactions in a single, chronological list.
- Visual Distinction: To help quickly identify different transaction types, inactive transactions are color-coded in purple.
-
Updated Legend: The scheduler legend now includes a purple indicator specifically for inactive transactions (see highlighted area below).
- Accurate Calculations: The system automatically includes inactive amounts in the Inflow and Outflow columns (see the 2nd and 3rd columns in the image above).
- True Running Balance: The Client Balance column will recalculate to include the inactive values.
Troubleshooting / FAQ
Why does the contact balance not update after changing the setting?
When you update the Include Inactive Transactions in Amortization Scheduler setting, refresh the contact page to load the latest schedule calculations. If the balance remains unchanged, confirm that you selected Save Changes in account settings.
Where can I see whether a specific payment is active or inactive?
Open the contact payment schedule and view the transaction record. Each payment entry displays an individual Status indicator and an Active flag to help you track current states.
Does enabling this setting alter my transaction history?
No. This setting controls whether the amortization scheduler includes or excludes inactive records during balance calculations. It does not modify original transaction data or change transaction statuses.
